"Animal crackers in my soup"

(Loving my mug!)
Good morning and happy Saturday! I'm quiet late on posting since I slept in till eight thirty. And it felt so nice! When I woke up I had the great idea of baking pancakes with animal cookies in them but my tummy was hungry now so I had to make something that took less time. If I really think about it I hadn't ate for thirteen hours, wow! Anyways I knew I wanted to incorporate two things, animal cookies and cashews.

Vanilla Bean Animal Cookies Oats with Pomegranate Glazed Cashews

(Photo 2)
I first cooked a batch of fifty fifty oats with old fashion and oat bran. After whipping vanilla bean, cinnamon and skim milk I added banana. Before I poured the oats into the bowl I dusted the sides with cinnamon, my favorite trick to get a warm flavor through out. I topped my oats with crushed Barbara's Vanilla Animal Cookies, plain cashews and Sahale Snack's Vanilla Pomegranate Glazed Cashews. So delicious, probably the best breakfast I've had in a while!
I wish Barbara's Bakery would make me a swimming pool of these little cookies...that's how much I love them!! As for the nuts, being that it was the first time I tried glazed cashews I was taken aback to the flavor. Something other then plain? What?! At first its a sweet vanilla flavor then the fruity notes of the pomegranate come out. The cashew itself was very creamy and fresh too. I loved the flavor and officially am addicted. I would say that I like them better then the Soledad nuts because they have a more mild and, dare I say it, girly flavor then the balsamic red pepper ones. But I think they both have their place in meals. Very delicious!

I am going to be taking the weekend off to spend some time with the family and Lu but I'll be back Monday morning to announce the Flax Matter's Giveaway Winner! You can still register up till tonight!! Enjoy your weekend!
PS: Which picture do you like better, photo 1 or 2? I couldn't decide!

THOSE ANIMAL CRACKERS!! Animal crackers are something I love, and anytime they're around me I have no shame in asking whoever has them if I can have a few. Just one? Yeah riiight. For real.. I've asked complete strangers for animal crackers lol. So far they haven't been laced with anything.
