Currently I am...trotting around the local shops, buying Lulu a candy cane striped sweater, wearing my thrift'd goods, trying on trapper hats, drinking Amazing Grass Chocolate Banana Milkshakes, pinning my hair back in odd braids, feasting on ungodly amounts of pumpkin, sweet potatoes and kabocha and feeling the love with a vegan cookie the size of my face....
Chocolate Chip Orange cookie? Ohh yes my tummy is lovin' it! I am not one to skip over ingredient lists but all I knew was it looked good, vegan and had the word "love" on it. Once I took a bite my first thought was "Whoa is that orange?!". I've never tried orange with chocolate so it had to grow on me but once I took another bite I couldn't stop. The chocolate chip part was very delicious and the orange flavor is not over powering..its a very balanced cookie. Chocolate and orange, who knew? My only complaint is that I wish it was more chewy or moist, but for being vegan it was pretty darn tasty! While almost finished I remembered it was time for some late afternoon protein so I crumbled a bit over the last of my Oiko yogurt. We have a winner!

ReplyDeletei saw those cookies on Katharina's blog, and i am soo ordering them asap, love chocolate and orange together. love the jocolat orange lara, and i remember a while back i went to this amazing chocolate shop in NYC, (jaques torres) and got a hot chocolate that has white chocolate and orange, like pure chocolate, omg so so freakin good! :)

OH MY GOSH!!! YES!!! Those cookies are the bomb! Seriously, even if you don't like that combo I feel like you would just like it anyway. I'm so glad that someone else got to enjoy them! Have you tried the Lemon Snickerdoodle (that was my fave, but that choc-orange was my 2nd)?

I've always been put off by citrus fruits and chocolate, but I read Ellie's review on an Optimum Bar (she also hates citrus and chocolates) and she liked it! So lately, I have been getting curious to try that pair again.
