Sometimes it happens naturally...a mix of this, a dab of that, two slices of stale bread and a half of a lonely open apple sauce....coming together in a beautiful mess.

What one sees as "clutter" could translate into an other's muse...

White Thread Vase Fillers
Which can perpetuate into something grand, something representative of one's creativity.

Finished Bookshelf
Or it can represent a masterpiece..many textures and colors fill a cook wear dish. Clutter organized by layers, defined by flavors.

Baked Goat Cheese Spinach Whole Wheat Penne Pasta
But often clutter can overwhelm and must be contained. Allowing each note to have individual sound in a ballet..harmonious in the end.

Other times too much clutter in one's mind often results in a dozen cookies all different mix ins, but equally sublime...

How has clutter influenced your life and style of food?
On a side note: I've actually been feeling stranger by the day...sometimes I feel great..other times I think the world is ending. Blame it on my dramatic take on life or maybe I just have the flu :) Its been so long since I got a stomach bug that I keep second guessing what I have. Anyways, yesterday I went to the market and picked up some more kabocha, kale and honey crisps..all I've been craving lately. Does anyone know when kabocha season is over? I'm planning on freezing a few slices to get me through winter! xoxo Maggie

Your finished bookshelf looks great! I love reorganizing. In fact, I don't have school today so it's quite likely that I will do the same. yay!
Mmmmm... the baked pasta, kabocha and brussels sprouts looks so scrumptious.
have a fantastic weekend!
I am kale crazy too! I just had a delicious sandwich with kale, pumpkin butter, and cashew butter. SO GOOD.
As for clutter, I really avoid it. But at the same time I think my way of decorating involves clutter - it's more of a thought out clutter though. Everything has a place down to the candy cane I put in my saved colorful lychee can I use as a pen holder. I guess I'm just very thoughtful?
Anyway, I love how you decided to organize your shoes in the bookshelf. It looks like such a fun way to decide what you're going to wear that day.
p.s. we should do a swap! There are things I come across and things I want to write (not type) to you. I hope you have a wonderful Friday!
XOXO
p.s. no idea when kabochas go out of season. But I know when I went to an Asian market down in Florida during the summer they had them (mind you they were really expensive). Right now I can't find them anywhere! I think it's sporadic with the supply around here. But I'm hoping to venture on over to the Farmer's Market this weekend and find some! Fingers crossed xx
hey lovely,
love the theme of clutter!
that pasta wow that looks like the best pasta EVER! ;)
and i love your breakfast, and your plate by the way! nutmeg applesauce sounds so good, and love the sweet and savory.

Yeah, I hear ya - I've been having "strange days too" lately. Today is one of them :(
The squash will be gone by January or February.
^^ yes liz answered the question, hehe. 2 more months?!
well :) love your breakfast and that pasta looks amazing! i must make that! and your book shelf is amazing too!
as for clutter, well, my kitchen is quiet small(cluttered kinda..) lol...i hate it! i long for a huge kitchen with loads of counter space!! but i make due with the teeny space, and i do whip out some yummy eats in there! ;) or a clutter of favors in my lunch today which turned out so good! (grilled wrap with bean, pistachios, and kambocha, cinnamon, ginger and curry, and wilted alfalfa sprouts! :)
xo love you
maya
p.s just had apple sauce bc u made me want it lol..with nutmeg and some pumpkin mixed in! so good :)
I have a love/hate relationship with clutter as well. I feel that clutter can make things feel more home-y at times. other times, I just want to have a plain simple room with almost nothing in it!
your breakfast looks delicious - sweet and savory. yum!
That is one of my favorite breads! So good. I had a really similar breakfast this morning, too!
That bookshelf vignette is gorgeous! So organized, but chic and casual. I'm in love :D
Omigah. I love your book shelf. (I'm a girl thats pretty damn proud of my closet too, and I am genuinely jealous of your book shelf. So cute.)
