Old Chapter

Banana Bread Yogurt Mess- Greek yogurt mixed with cinnamon and cloves. Topped with multigrain VitaTop, medjool dates and banana slices. Dusted with cinnamon and a drizzle of agave to finish it.

Good day lovies! This morning it was the obvious choice of anything that could be put into a bowl. I took Katharina's advice and visited TJ Max last night to find the most amazing plate wear ever. You'll see more of my buys later on this week! Can I just say how much I love the multigrain VitaTops, besides the Chocolate Fig, these are pretty much my favorite! I'm planning on ordering the chocolate mint and fig tops in the future. This mess was sure delicious!

Lets get on to my day, shall we? While rinsing out my face cloth this morning I looked up in the mirror and had a big smile on my face. Why am I so happy? First of all there is nothing like waking up naturally without an alarm clock, I love my Saturdays. And second I'm moving tomorrow which means I can finally start decorating my new place. I already have ideas for my Pilate's/tea lounge room...aka the spare bedroom lol. Lastly...I quit the gym yesterday! Yep I walked in yesterday did some cardio and that was my last time there. For some time I feel I've been abusing the purpose of going and honestly its hurting not helping. Without getting into it too much, I want what's best for me and right now that entails more Pilate's and healthy food. I literally skipped into the kitchen knowing that for once I wasn't in a rush to make breakfast to go "burn off calories". I think that right there is worth it. Whatever dreams I had that inspired me last night to have such a positive attitude today...I hope they continue! Anyone have any recommendations for Pilate's or stretching DVDs?

Remember how I said I bought a tub of medjool dates......

Bliss.

Yesterday I just had to make something with my new jewels...

Greek Date and Cream Oats- A mix of steel cut oats and oat bran cooked in coconut milk and cardamon. Topped with agave sweetened walnuts, medjool dates and Greek yogurt.

After singing to every Bob Marley song while packing up my floral silk scarfs and high school yearbooks I took a break for a snack. Even though my fridge is pretty empty I managed to find some pumpkin walnut bread I made a few months ago in the freezer. And there is four more slices, this seriously made my day!

Pumpkin Walnut Bread with Coconut Oil and Mushroom Coffee

Mmmmm coconut oil! Going through my old yearbooks I saw a few "Life lists" I made in the past...some contained heart breaking goals, others were reminders of what I still want to do. I got kinda distracted thinking about what I want now in life so I decided to make a new one. On one side I wrote what I want and then how to achieve it, such as a "Glow"....I want to be glowing inside and out, being happy with myself and sharing that happiness with my loved ones. Then the back of the paper I write how to attain that...one way is quitting the gym and focusing on what I love...Pilate's. I see many walks with Lu in the future! I wrote a bunch more, all quiet personal but you get the idea. Do you make life lists?

Did you wonder what happened to all my shoes.....

Packed up for my car!

Before doing, what felt like a year's worth, of laundry I managed to use up some expiring produce in a salad. Desperate times desperate times :) I also had an berry flavored Amazing Grass drink as dessert. Well...after I drank it I realized it was nothing of an "dessert" but I persevered through it! I can't be getting sick right now! The flavor? It was kinda like dentist fluoride, it probably would have been better in orange juice...I just like the chocolate much better.

Speaking of getting sick, my poor sister is very ill right now with the flu. Shes a girl after my own heart, warm cinnamon applesauce, earl grey tea with agave and crusty burnt sourdough toast have been her requests. Please leave her get well comments!

I managed to get dressed around 2pm..oh weekends...please never end! What to wear...

Saddle boots, warm autumn scarfs and handmade headbands = my fall wardrobe.

For the face...

Green goddess smoothie and mac makeup- glowing inside and out.

I decided to go out for a bit and pick up some much needed moving supplies. Store of choice? Target! I had to calm myself down when I saw the jars of organic Sun butter...I have two more peanut butter jars at home that must be finished first so I resisted. I managed to pick up some Say Yes to Carrots lip balm, Pore nose strips, and some moving tape. I can't say I'm not still thinking about going to pick up that sunflower butter...all my pb is packed up..I'm dying here! ;)

Special shout out to Eliza who wrote some every inspiring words and also mentioned my take on looking at the "jar half full"! Thanks girl, hugs!
Dinner tonight was an repeat of yesterday's breakfast with a twist...

Mozzarella and Mushroom Omelet with Cayenne and Cinnamon Yam Rounds- Baby Bell Lite Cheese mixed with mushrooms, onions and tomatoes inside a fluffy egg white omelet. With a side of yam rounds roasted in coconut oil, cinnamon and cayenne. I wish I had maple syrup!

Amy asked how I cook my sweet potatoes or yams yesterday so I have to admit that when I bought a huge box of them at Costco I thought they were sweet potatoes. The box said "fresh sweet potatoes" but until I peeled them and realized they were yams! I'm honestly not a big fan of them..sweet potatoes have my heart but I'm trying to make use of them. I usually peel them first, hello dirty dozen, then toss in coconut oil and spices. I bake them in the oven at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes per side. Roasting them is my favorite way but sometimes I will steam them for fun. Have any good yam recipes?...I have a whole box left!

Speaking of Amy..... Amy's Kitchen is hosting a slogan contest for their company. I guess they don't have an official one yet? So basically enter on their website or search for "Amy's Go Organic" on facebook, which I know nothing about, with an phrase, word, jingle, or rhyme encapsulates Amy’s Kitchen for them (in 15 words or less). The winner will receive $500 worth of Amy’s products! Pretty sweet huh? All entries must be received by February 1 2010, so you got a while to come up with something. I know I already have!

As you might have guessed, this is my last post for the week until I move over to my new place. The Internet official shuts down tonight! So I had a bit of mint dark chocolate tonight to honor to end of an old chapter and the beginning of an new one! My last photo with the counter top. Oh how I will miss its grainy beauty!

I'll never forget our first encounter...tehehe

Life will be a bit hectic for the next few months until I'm fully settled but I'm so excited for the change. Lets just say I'm fully taking advantage of the change by changing even more things in my life!! I hope everyone takes care, I'll miss all your blogs but I will be back hopefully Tuesday!

xoxo Maggie

  8. I remember the day i stopped going to the gym i was literally getting the shakes. I cut back on food and wanted nothing more than to lift some weights and tell myself i 'earned something to eat'. Then i took a breath and remembered that God takes care of me and not LA Fitness. Especially when i dont do it properly (workout wise). When i can take care of me in all other aspects then i will go back and be better than ever. Until then im enjoying the break and going back to performing.

My thoughts to your sister. It is no fun to be under the weather right now... so keep throwing more toast at her so she can keep her strength up. Our thoughts are with her!

I would honestly come out there and help you move if you want me too. Yeah, i went thre. That is how much i think we would get along (as long as there was a s-bux run post-move!)
