Spiced Cider Raisin Pancakes with Warm Agave Cinnamon Apples

Tired of the cider yet? It would probably be correct to say that I go off on food tangents often. Once I find something new I just can't stop imagining using it a million different ways. Drinking plain cider? Unheard of! This morning I felt a bowl of oats just would not due, eating with a fork was very appealing, so I put together some spiced pancakes. A dash of cinnamon, nutmeg and a big splash of Trader Joe's cider took the plain flax mix up to another level. They probably would be just as amazing alone but I had to "decorate" a bit with raisins, walnuts and a huge honey crisp all baked inside. Not only did I top them with more of those decorations but I made a warm apple cider syrup that I drizzled after the photo. This was not far from decedent...my whole place smelled like an apple pie bakery!

As for Wednesday I want to put together a rather long FAQ for my blog archives. If anyone has any questions please comment! :)

My last truth: I was a dancer my whole life. I've been trained in ballet, tap and jazz. Ballet was my favorite since I was a child, I have a love affair with the piano music and the dance itself. I'd probably start again if I had the time and energy...its been a year almost since I quit! But I try to channel that passion for dancing in other parts of my life like my fashion, photography and food. Everything is a dance in life really...just need to know the foot work and timing :)

  2. Your inclusion of cider in your pancakes is genius! Why should such a delicious treat be limited to drink form? I bet it would be a terrific addition to oats too.

My career as a dancer ended at the ripe age of 5 when I threw a tantrum because I hated the tap portion of my ballet/tap class. Sometimes I wish I had stuck with it a little longer and learned a bit more. I could use some more grace and rhythm in my life.

  7. I'm so jealous of your dancing skills!
I flirted with dancing a bit as a kid, engaging in a few musical theater dancing lessons and hiphop classes. (Loved doing that as a scrawny little pale, white girl. haha.)

But I so wish my parents put me in ballet. C'est la vie. :( Watching Glee, all I want to do is DANCE.

    Loving your pancakes!

  8. I go on food tangents more than I should... but hey, if you enjoy it what's the problem?
And it's always fun to decorate your plate.

I've always wanted to do ballet... I find it to be the most graceful thing to watch.

    I love your truths!

  11. Yum yum yum!

I did ballet for 12 years and then I quit. I wish I hadn't and I still have that prima ballerina in me lol. Seriously, I think if you were ever a dancer you naturally carry yourself with a little more grace than most. Dance is beautiful :)
