Baked Honey Breakfast Cookie with Basil Banana Smoothie

Black Friday Find- French Knot Hat from Urban Outfitters
Questions I ask myself these days..Why was it so hard for me to stop going to the gym? I love Pilate's and long walks now. Why are naps before dinner time so peaceful? The oven warms the heart and the house. How was it possible that most of my meals were without carbohydrates? They always compliment and complete my dishes beautifully. Why do fears consume people? Breaking a habit once always does the charm. Am I holding myself back from the life I want to live? I can do anything I set my mind to. Why do the weekends always seem so promising? Roasted vegetables, trying new recipes and waiting by the phone for that one call is worth it. Does the sky have to get so dark at such a early hour? January brings new hope. Why do I insist on lighting tons of candles when its just me for dinner? Wouldn't have it any other way. How is it that the best squashes will be out of season soon? There will be a new favorite vegetable, don't worry. Will my family recognize me? People change, you did too! How come Lu keeps chewing up her new sweaters? Obviously red is not her color. Why is it that making big "X"s on the calender feels so good? Accomplishment. Should I go for that "dream job" opportunity? What are you waiting for!!!
Morning everyone! Just a quick note to say thank you for the considerate comments about my photography. This weekend is going to be a bit of a glorious thing! I have a few awe inspiring dishes I'm planning on making as well as some desserts I've been dying to put together. Here is a few, 1, 2, 3. Veggie Spicy Chili and Warm Cornbread are as must on my weekend menu. Happy Friday!

All your questions you ask yourself relate so much to me. i ask myself such similar things..like why am i holding myself back from living life 110%!! why do i deprive my self of the things that i know i want or need?... when those are the things that will make me happy on some level and make a dish or a snack that much more lovely! what am i waiting for! (thank you for this. maggie, it really made my brain click* wHAT AM I WAITING FOr!!????) breaking a habit once always does the charm, yesyesyeys!!! so true! :)

ps: that baked breakfast cookie, do you have a recipe? :)
Eliza,
ReplyDeleteI just took 1/2 cup of rolled oats in bowl and added enough egg to keep them together. I also added some salt, cinnamon and honey. Add dried fruit of choice. I then put them on a hot flat pan on low and let them cook slowly in a pancake shape for five minutes. Then topped with more honey. So delicious!
I agree with both Eliza and Maya. Your words help put a lot into perspective for me- I think it's wonderful that you're making an effort to 'just be' and to enjoy the finer things in life.
ReplyDeleteAlso, that cookie looks bomb-- hook a girl up!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, darling!
