Lovely Lady

Amy's Steel Cut Oats with layers of Ricemellow Creme and topped with Cinnamon and a Spoonful of Raw Almond Butter

Hey everyone! How is your week going? I can't say mine has been the usual...life is very random for me lately. Yesterday I spent the day catching up on emails, taking Lu to the park and visiting the local farmer's market. But besides those normal tasks a few huge things have taken place in my life. I know its not right to mention it without really talking about it but that's just how it has to be. I can say that things are really turning out peachy for me and that in itself is out of the ordinary!

Lets get on to breakfast, shall we? You know your a food blogger when pretty much everything your eating are for product reviews. Not complaining one bit though! This morning I wanted something creamy so I grabbed a box of Amy's Steel Cut Oats from the freezer. I'm not one to eat my oats from a box but I trust Amy's so why not. Was it love? Oh yes! Talk about creaminess, how do they get steel cut oats to be so soft I'll never know. But what I do know is it was the best bowl of oats I've had in years..the texture was right on. Completely reminds me of this amazing breakfast cafe by the ocean I went to once..they were know for their oatmeal! Amy is one lovely lady! Did I mention ricemellow was involved this morning? I knew I had to try some when I read about it on a friends blog months ago..and it was exactly what I anticipated...fluffy and sweet. Only wish was I wanted another bowl after! :)

Remember this lovely lady?

  5. I am glad you are having a good week!

Those cookies look delicious - esp the lemon snicker doodle (unique flavor huh?!) - I would probably chop it into tiny pieces and use it 2 different ways - once to top some Greek yogurt, and the next time to top a green smoothie.

    Happy Thursday

  8. I would use each cookie for a different thing; the choco-choco chip, I would make a chocolate sundae with it. I would warm the lemon snikerdoodle one up and most likely eat it with applesauce in the morning. The orange chocolate one, I would eat, heated up, with a chocolate milkshake or sprinkled over some applesauce. And, I would eat the cocunt pineapple sprinkled over a heated up banana. (:

My favorite recipe in your recipe page is the Vegan Double Chocolate Brown-Cakes
    (Half brownie half cake)
When I first saw that recipe my mouth watered!

And, I just made a link on my blog of your give away. (:

  9. Hi Maggie!
I've never commented before, but I've been reading your blog for a few months now, and I must say your breakfasts are some of the most beautiful meals I've ever seen. I can't decide whether my favorite flavor is the lemon snickerdoodle or the choco choco chip (I've never tried them before!), but I know exactly what I'd do with it: split it with my sister and eat it with milk (because I'm creative like that...not). Thanks for holding the giveaway!

  10. Oh I should mention that I don't really have a blog (it's not open to the public), but I did try the cereal cake after seeing it on your blog and Amy's. It was so good...I used my favorite cereal (i.e. Wheaties, the breakfast of Champions).

  22. Thanks a bunch for the sweet comment :] Really made my day.

How does ricemellow creme taste compared to regular marshmallow fluff? I've always been interested in trying it, but kind of nervous about a weird aftertaste or some other unappealing factor.

Haha, I don't know if I could eat only for product reviews. I'm a repetitive eater, and I like to research before I branch out... meaning, I read reviews from bloggies like you ;)
