Apple crisps

Raisin apple oatmeal cookies

Perfect afternoon snack. I really don't remember the recipe..but that's usually results in the best kind of cookie! For sure whole wheat flour, honey and apples were involved. Extra healthy means guilt-free ;)

March: Food Pick

I find myself saving many blogs food pictures in my inspiration folder. So every month I will be choosing one blog to credit for having the best food post! I think breakfast food is becoming a huge part of fashion blogs now...it creates a lifestyle...and tells alot about someones personality. This month it was a toss up between Swank Height's and her lovely breakfast including Ina Garten's chocolate ganache cupcakes and WishWishWish's macaron's from Laduree. I decided to pick both, just this one time, since one was made and the other was bought! Oh Laduree how I love you dearly! So here they are...try not to drool!

If you want to be a candidate for next month...start posting some beautiful food pics!

Oatsandberries

While practicing my warm ups on the barre at ballet class I had a surprising craving for a cottage style pancake. And the first thing that pops into mind is oatmeal honey cakes with warm berries. Being the o'natural cook and all, I wanted to make them healthy. A ballerina's got to eat :)
Simple enough...when I woke up this morning I rushed to the kitchen to meet a warm fire and a mixing bowl.

My little oatmeal honey hotcake recipe...
(This makes one serving..one big hotcake..or two small ones)

1 Whole Egg
3 Egg Whites
1/2 Cup Oatmeal
A Drizzle of honey

Mix together lightly.
(Perfect carb, protein and fruit ratio..the honey is optional)

You must build the pancake on the warm pan on the stove top, I use a crepe pan, making it into a round hotcake. Simple enough! Warm up berries either on stove top or microwave. Then adorne your lovely oat cake with a drizzle of honey and some berries. I love mine with a rice milk latte!

Yum yum. All gone!

This spring/summer is all about light flirty colors and ballerina silhouettes for me.
But that doesn't mean all studs/leather is forgotten..I prefer to mix them with my florals to keep with the trends but to stay true to my unique classy look.

Super flirty:

Late afternoons mean...
Sprouted grain english muffin toasted with almond butter and banana slices. And topped it off with a lemon grass green tea with a splash of pomegranate juice.
I saved the other half of the banana for later....mmmm chocolate banana shakes!

Today was spent visiting an amazing pastry shop where I bought some of these babies. The tiramisu macaron was delightful! Topped off the day by exploring some funky vintage shops that sold tutu's and nautical scarfs. Quiet lovely!

French toast is always better with my dessert eggs. Put them on top or on the side. After tasting these bread-pudding like eggs, everyone wants the recipe...but thats a little secret I'll always hold close to my heart. Is'nt the weekend a blissful time? Off to find a talented French bakery in town!
