Eating My Words

I once said I wasn't into "heavy carb loading" in the morning....

Banana Rice Pudding -Warm Brown Rice Cinnamon Milk blended with carmelized bananas with Flax Plus Flakes and sliced banana. A side of Orange Slice Tea with half of an Chocolate Dream Power Cookie.

Welcome to my breakfast staple. Warm cereal and bananas are a must with the occasional sweet cookie pick me up. I ate my past words for breakfast and I loved it!

I once "refueled" after activity with only a piece of fruit or a plate of vegetables.

Gluten-Free Multi grain Bread with Mediterranean Hummus and Warm Mozzarella. A side Garden Salad and Honey Crisp Apple Slices.

I ate my words with a side of bread, hummus and cheese. No restraints here just lots of flavors and sounds of "mmm"! One of the best gluten free bread's I've tasted yet and thank goodness they finally made one with the whole grain stamp on it! I loved the light texture of it..kinda reminded me of Trader Joe's quinoa bread but more dense. Yum!

I once said I was no apricot fan...

Newman's Dried Apricots and Spelt Pretzels with Thai Lime Cashews.

I ate my words while proclaiming that these were "the best dried fruit ever to meet my lips"! When a fruit tastes like green bubble tea...its worth a OH HOLY YUM!

I once saved "dessert" for special occasions...

Chocolate Dream Cookie with Warm Ricemellow Creme

I ate my words every single late night this week while reading a good book in the comforts of my pjs and favorite blanket.

Sitting here I'm very perplexed with things I use to say. But if this year is about proving my old beliefs wrong then so be it. "Eating our words" keeps us humble and humility is a beautiful virtue my friends. Only a few days in this year and I'm ready for more change and positivity! Speaking if it...January 11 2010: Going out to dinner should happen more, it made me glow with happiness. My papa gave me the most thoughtful gifts last night..couldn't ask for a better person in my life! I love how my purple shampoo makes my hair brighter!

Hope your Monday goes well! A few lovely things happening this week...a huge giveaway, shop updates, an insane banana concoction and one reader's breakfast request will be made. Have you ever proved your own sayings wrong? Do you believe in humility?

  1. I loved the theme of this post! I'm a huge believer in humility. Without out it, we lose touch with our humanity! It took a while for me to digest the lesson that it's ok to be wrong or not know something. It's nothing that requires condemnation or shame, but celebration. There's a beauty in mistakes and their lessons. There's a tremendous beauty in the not knowing.

There are many examples of me eating my words. Too many to pluck from off the top of my head. Saying "I'll never leave NYC" does come to mind, though, as I can't wait to move back to California this summer.
