Fuzzy Peaches and Afternoons

Hey! Sorry I was off so quickly this morning, I'm trying to learn to prioritize which means family comes first before myself! But before I ran out the door I put on a few long lost treasures...
My favorite color Mustard Knit Cardigan, Silky Mod Keyhole Dress with Black Leggings and a Vintage Locket Ring. I bought this dress almost two years ago and only worn it once...so sad but I used to think it was "wasteful" to wear pretty things on non occasions. Well that stupid reasoning is out the window! This year is all about embracing the new and being positive, right? So I've challenged myself to wear every single item at least once again this year..will be very intense since my collection of vintage dresses is kinda absurd. I'm actually giddy though that the tee and skinny jeans uniform will go by the waste side for now. If requested I could start posting some outfits as I go :)

A few hours later and errands done I stopped by a jewelry supply store to pick up some ribbon and chain for a new necklace I'm working on. Spending time at the book store last weekend with my nose stuck in every Parisian art and photography book out there...I can say this necklace is very inspired by spring time in France! Are you missing spring? I am.

I finished packing up a few of the shop's goodies to send out this week and then got down to some munching..

Brown Rice Cake with Roasted Peanut Butter and Dried Apricots. Everyone always says that rice cakes are "diet" food..but I beg to differ! I've always had them with nut butters and I think pretty delicious dipped in chocolate and dusted with sea salt.

While I snacked a bit I remembered the giveaway I've been promising for some time. How did I forget to post pictures? Sheesh!

Just a sneak preview of a few things going into the big giveaway box! I'll announce the biggest prize of it next week..someone also will be receive one beautiful gift from My Breakfast Shop!

Another thing I remembered was that I haven't posted yesterdays eats so lets rewind to yesterday's afternoon...I cracked open one of my favorite raw cookbooks and got to work on a "Save the tuna" sunflower seed pate. My favorite thing to do while cooking is snack so the obvious choice was a peach fruition bar!

This Fruition bar was mighty tasty! The flavor got a bit lost within the sweetness of the dates but it still satisfied every craving I had for the fuzzy fruit. Whoever thought of putting chia seeds in a bar should receive a hug! Does anyone else enjoy snacking while preparing a meal?
The finished product was worth all the chopping and dicing...

Served in romaine lettuce boats, later topped with horseradish mustard, with a side of brussels sprout shreds and balsamic mushrooms topped with agave ketchup. Ohhh drool! If you haven't made an sunflower pate you really must, this was my first time, especially if your budget can't afford Sunshine Burgers. One bag of sunflower seeds ran me about $1.45! This was a first for dulse too and have I been missing out on this sea veggie, I wouldn't say its "fishy" per say just very salty! I loved this recipe so much I'm planning to sub the dulse and make it southwestern with black beans and chipotle spices. Mmmm!

Nigh time isn't complete without a little sweetness so I mixed together a little something something while I got ready for bed.

Mashed Bananas with Ginger topped with Crumbled Chocolate Cookies and a dollop of Rice Mellow. If your into rich flavors blend a little ginger into warm mashed bananas it will awaken your senses! Probably not the best thing at night to do but it was refreshing to say the least :)

Anyways I'm off to make some lunch and finish sorting through some clothes. Hopefully my local thrift shop will trade three pieces of old denim for one newish pair of skinny jeans. Fingers crossed! Tomorrow I'm making something super special for breakfast and Monday this goodie goes up in my etsy shop, stay tuned! xoxo

  2. Pleeease post some pictures of your future outfits, that would be awesome! I can already tell that I'll love seeing what you're wearing. :D

I love to snack while making a meal too. If I don't then I end up getting moody/irritable and have a hard time keeping myself from eating my ingredients.. haha.

Ugh, I love rice cakes! My brother tried to tell me once that they were no good for me but whatever. You can do SO much with them. Pretty much anything tastes good when you put it on top of one. :)

  9. Beautiful Sweater! As a fellow mustard lover, I find this remarkable! As I do the pate. For such an un-aesthetically pleasing food, you sure do make it look lovely.
