An "Yogurt Mess" of Vanilla Regular Yogurt with Flame Raisins, Old Fashion Uncooked Oats and A Chopped Honey Crisp Apple. With a side of Raw Cookie Dough Balls.

When breakfast includes two dessert components then I know its going to be a good week. Apple pie? Check. Chocolate Chip Cashew Cookie Dough? Double check. Its taken a few months but I think I've perfected the yogurt mess to my liking. Extra sticky, full of flavor and not too sweet. The raisins really take the credit though, labeled as "Flame" raisins at Whole Foods, beyond words my friends...beyond words. These two inspired "desserts" were extraordinary compared to the originals and that's saying something! While I was sipping my green tea and munching off the last cookie dough ball I had the glorious idea of deeming this "Dessert" week. So this whole week I'm going to try to replicate or deconstruct different desserts and make them breakfast appropriate. Sounds fun, no? And the best part is that if you participate by linking back to this post I will put up your best "dessert" links every morning. Did you make some drool worthy carrot cake? Or did your toast creation resemble a Parisian pastry? Send me the link! sleepdreamdress@yahoo.com. Beautiful!
Speaking of beautiful things....

Belle Banana Foster Bar with Newman's Dried Apricots
My favorite granola bar company, 18 Rabbits, was sweet enough to send me a little something something to try. Two things crossed my mind when I opened the package. First of all...hello favorite color yellow! Second of all, dried bananas? Oh my goodness! My first bite was pure bliss, I tasted the crunchy granola and the sweet flavor of banana. I kept taking small nibbles, like a bunny would, to taste all the banana bites, they were that good! In the middle of eating the bar it got a bit dry though but that's when yogurt needs to get involved. So overall it had a balanced banana flavor, great consistency but a tad dry. My future plans would be to crumble it on yogurt or swirl it into a bowl of creamy oats for just a little more moisture. How can I really find fault though, I love these granola bars! Hmmm I think I just got inspired for another "dessert" this week...we shall see :)
A few things to note as of lately...found the most interesting vintage charms and buttons Saturday so a brand new necklace will be revealed Friday morning. Also one breath taking recipe booklet from the 1950's is going up in my shop too! Zoey loved the Belle Banana Foster Bar. I've spent innumerable hours hovering over braided robe and knot books that my eyes may blur out! And making raw tuna rolls, sunflower seed butter, and buying kabocha at 10pm for 89 cents is worth the effort. Hope you all have a great Monday, its the first week of the year!! Will you join in "Dessert" Week to start it off?
