Crumbs for the Birds

Raisin Apricot Bagel with Cinnamon Dusted Cream Cheese with a side Mandarin Orange
Please excuse the crumbs..well actually don't. You see, often the case is that the finished product came from a quiet messy making. I love organizing and cleaning more then the next gal but something about cooking I feel free from my perfectionist ways and able to drop a crumb or two. Maybe its the liberating thought that I can, if I choose to, control the mess or that its just in fact my art; the way I express myself without restraint. No matter, pots are usually stacked in the sink, burnt toast pieces by the toaster and honey drops on spoons. After all that is said and done I sit and enjoy my breakfast, my masterpiece. I cannot lie though...maybe a few hours later I clean like a mad women :) Are you a neat and tidy or throw all into the wind while you cook?

i am the exact same, i make my breakfast, i leave a bit of a mess, the pot still sitting on the stove with scrapes of oats left, nut butter jars open and banana peels on the counter, then when i am done, as you do i clean like a mad woman ;) i am a bit of a neat freak when it comes to the kitchen, always organizing the cupboards, and fridge haha! :)

    love you so much!

  6. wow that orange looks so beautiful! you really have a knack for making food look picturesque.
    AMAZING.

lol and I'm the same about cleaning. My kitchen gets TRASHED when I'm really at it, and as soon as the pot/pan goes in the oven, it's "HAMMER TIME" and everything MUST. BE. SPOTLESS.

  7. Gorgeous orange/bird! Reminds me of my mother's kitchen (a compliment--she has amazing taste!).

I try to be tidy but sometimes I find cooking itself so engaging that being neat is put on the back-burner (along with the quinoa bubbling away in mushroom broth, or whatever's going on). No shame--the kitchen ought to be a jungle anyway.

  8. "My Stomach is jealous" <---- haha I love that comment by EN VANITE.
I must say my stomach is jealous too :)

AAHHH MAGGIE I am so happy to be commenting on your beautiful blog again!
I love flavored bagels, I only have plain Spelt bagels at home though. Perhaps I will have a breakfast for lunch type of thing today and eat one though. I always sprinkle cinnamon over my bagels. I'm addicted to cinnamon.

When i cook, I TRY to be as neat as possible because my mom is a neat freak but naturally, the kitchen would just look like a complete and utter mess. And my mom would go crazy hahah
    Love you!
