English Muffin with Sunflower Seed Butter, Dates other side with Whipped Egg Whites. Paired with a Chococonut Granola Bar.
There is something so comforting when old favorites are enjoyed again. I remember last winter when there wasn't a day that went by without sunflower butter, it always warms me up. This past month I've been so preoccupied that the always anticipated weekly grocery shopping trip has turned into random rushed late night stops. Where does time go? But last night I was determined to pick up a few of my comforts and set out to make a ode to winter breakfast. I don't know about you but I'm ready to trade warm fluffy egg whites and hot toasted bread for something more spring like..bowls of berries and cream! Don't get me wrong though..I know by mid summer I will be craving my winter favorites and probably reincorporate them somehow..and when I do it will be so comforting!
So your probably wondering why what this lovely little granola bar is, right? The sweet people from Nature's Path also sent me the chococonut granola bars along with the sunny hemp kind I tried a few days ago. By the looks of the nibble off the bar I obviously was no stranger to them. I actually tore into the box the day they arrived and savored this flavor first! So so so delicious. I loved how they were not overly sweet and the coconut was very creamy with the chocolate. If I had the chance though I would add more chunks of chocolate and shreds of coconut..I mean if your going that direction why not? While speaking of chocolate, I had the privilege of taking my Papa out for crepes this weekend...
I was stuck between a spinach mushroom savory crepe or a sweet sugar crepe with lemon. I choose the later, sweet and simple like me! I thought we might share but he had other plans..
The dark dutch chocolate crepe with strawberries and banana. If only my hand was in the picture it would be obvious how huge this crepe was! And nothing tops off a great breakfast with the greatest person without a cup of espresso and a green tea for myself. Délicieux! The rest of the day was spent strolling the streets in my favorite sundress and straw hat. There's just something so European about a weekend of crepes, vintage dresses and hats that makes me want to pack up my bags for France! No? :)
Sweet Crepes and Black Coffee Straw Hat
Tell me what is your favorite kind of crepe? And have you been to France before? Love you!! Ps: Thanks for all the great tips on where to find some of my spring wish list wants! I had a dream the other night that a two of my favorite lovies helped me find the perfect tutu..I actually have my eye on one I found a few days ago...hmm now six more things to go :)

I love your blog! All of your breakfasts look amazing.
ReplyDeleteI went to Ti Couz in San Francisco and had the most amazing buckwheat crepes. The savory and the sweet were phenomenal.
Never been to France but plan on it!
Mhm, dates are good on anything!
ReplyDeleteI love crepes, any kind! I've been to Paris, and I've enjoyed one of the best crepes of my life. Bought on the street, filled with a banana and a huuuuge tbsp of nutella. It was hot and comforting, a perfect treat for a cold new year's eve :)

It's difficult to pick one 'favourite' crepe...
ReplyDeleteThey are so deliciously good. You ought to pack and visit France for mouthwatering crepe;-)
Oh my goodness, that bar sounds awesome, and your crepes look totally delicious! I've never been to France, but my first crepe was at The Crepe House in San Francisco. I was like... seven maybe? And I got the Pesto Crepe with cheddar, tomato, spinach, pine nuts, feta pesto, and avocado. GAAAAH!!! :) On occasion I make crepes at home. I've made Nutella with powdered sugar and fresh strawberries, and baked apple with cinnamon and sugar. My BFF's friend's mom also makes SUPER FABULOUS crepes with blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries, but she cooks them into a thick sauce with corn syrup and I don't know what, and it's just amazing. Served with her fresh OJ. :)
ReplyDeleteFavorite crepes are filled with chocolate; and yes, I've been to France. J'adore!! I was there during the summer of 2003, and can't wait to go back.
ReplyDelete**Please email me when you get the chance!! I have a question!!
Love your blog! The picture are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love nutella-filled crepes (but really, I would eat anything with nutella on it).
I've never been to France, but it's at the top of my list of places to go!
Dates and nut butter. Wow I love it so much as a snack or as part of a meal. Favourite crepe? Honey and coconut I think. I have an obsession with them both. Your photography is so amazing. Is it ok if I do a feature on my blog of your photography? It really inspires me
